Elsie A. Tupper '53-A

 

Elsie A. Tupper '53-A

Elsie A. Tupper '53-A passed away at her home in Goldendale, Wash., on November 10, 2011, at the age of 89. She was born on November 12, 1921, in Fort Thomas, Ky. Before she studied medicine, Dr. Tupper attended George Washington University for home economics. She married Edward George, but Mr. George was killed in a plane crash during World War II. Dr. Tupper then attended Walla Walla University, where she met Clarence Tupper. They were married in Granger, Wash. Dr. Tupper is a fellow fo the American Academy of Family Practice and a life member of the American Academy of American Family Physicians. Dr. Tupper and her husband donated 480 acres of their working cattle ranch and farm to Project PATCH, a non-profit organization that serves troubled youth and builds stronger families. Dr. Tupper was recently recognized as an honored alumnus of the Alumni Association at APC 2011. She is survived by her husband, Clarence, her four sons, 15 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three girls to whom she served as a guardian.

Stanley A. Rouhe '69

 

Stanley A. Rouhe '69

Stanley A. Rouhe '69 passed away at home (while on hospice care) on June 25, 2011. He was 67 years old and had been a resident of Riverside, Calif., for 39 years. (He had lived in Riverside County and San Bernardino County for a total of 43 years.) His death was due to pancreatic cancer. Born on October 4, 1943, in Zaire, Africa, Dr. Rouhe was a neursuregon for 42 years and a partner in a medical distribution company. He was an excellent surgeon, loved by his patients and his peers. He had memberships with the Victoria Club and Trinity Chapel in Redlands, Calif. He is survived by his daughter, Helena Louise Rouhe, his brothers, Edgar and Richard Rouhe, and his sister, Suzanne Nelson. He was predeceased by his wife, Anne Louise Rouhe, on June 7, 2011. She died of kidney failure. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Micah House, Trinity Chapel's after-school program for adolescents.

Juan A. Monterroso '84

 

Juan A. Monterroso '84

Juan A. Monterroso '84 was born on August 5, 1958, in Guatemala City and passed away on October 3, 2010. He worked at Poly Clinic Medical Center in Bakersfield, Calif., where he was a partner and main doctor for 23 years. He is survived by his mother, Sylvia Altsman, his daughter, Christina, his son, Mark, and his brothers, Sergio and Luis. An extensive family of dear friends and hundreds of patients greatly love and miss him and still, a year later, bring flowers to his resting place. His family fixes in their minds the resurrection day, when our wonderful Savior will call him back to life with eternal health and vigor.
