Alumni Center Visit

The Alumni Association is located in the Carrol S. Small Alumni Center, at 11245 Anderson Street in Loma Linda, California. We are directly across Anderson Street from the main entrance to the Medical Center. We have our own parking lot with a few "guest" spaces so you won't have to spend a long time looking for a safe and legal place to leave your car. After you park, just come up the stone walkway and into the lobby, then continue up to the second floor using either the stairs or the elevator, and come straight in to Suite 200. (Photos by Dennis E. Park.)

The entrance to our building at 11245 Anderson Street with the Medical Center reflected from across the street. When you first enter the lobby, this is what you will see. Our state and country flags, and a painting by Nathan Greene. As you look to your left in the lobby, you will see the door to the Loma Linda University Planned Giving department, a plaque honoring significant donors to the Alumni Center, as well as a painting of Carrol S. Small '34 by S. Wesley Kime '53-A. On your right is our historical display case. Take a peek, you might learn something or even be reminded of something you already knew. Tenants in the Carrol S. Small Alumni Center leasing space from the Alumni Association include Loma Linda University Planned Giving, Loma Linda University Dental Alumni Association and Continuing Education, the General Conference Representative's office, and the National Medical Auxiliary. The stained glass window provides a kaleidoscope of color which lights the stairs from the first floor to the second floor of the Alumni Center. Once you reach the second floor, turn west (left from the stairs, right from the elevator) and walk in to our office, Suite 200. The first thing you will see is a nicely appointed reception and waiting area. The photo on the left shows the waiting area, which gives the visitor an excellent view of the Medical Center. In the photo on the right, A.T. Tuot, records manager, discusses a matter with Eileen Kakazu, receptionist and advertising manager. This plaque hangs in the reception area, recognizing Platinum, Diamond, Double Diamond, and Triple Diamond Perpetual Members of the Alumni Association. To the right of the reception area is the glass door bearing the Alumni Association seal is the gateway to the Alumni Association offices. The main hall is known as the "Hall of Presidents," which bears the portraits of all of the Alumni Association's, beginning with Leslie D. Trott '15 (president from 1915-1917) and ending with Winston Richards '74 (president from 2009-2010). Past the wall of presidents' photos, the hallways turns. This needlepoint, done by Raymond Herber '57, hangs in this second part of the hallway next to the National Auxiliary office. The Alumni Association's state-of the-art video production studio. To date the Alumni Association has produced several videos and documentaries, including a promotional piece for APC called "Pulling Out the Stops," a history of APC, a history of the Alumni Association presidents, a history of the University Church, and a history of the School of Medicine.  These have been presented at various campus events or at Alumni Association banquets.
