
The Alumni Association, School of Medicine of Loma Linda University is a nonprofit organization composed of both alumni and affiliate members, organized to support the School, to promote excellence in world-wide health care, and to serve its members.
APC General Information
Purpose and Overall ObjectiveThe Annual Postgraduate Convention (APC) is sponsored by the Alumni Association of the School of Medicine of Loma Linda University with the specific purpose of providing quality, evidence- based medical education for a spectrum of specialities. The areas covered this year include Primary Care, Ob/Gyn, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, Neurology, and Nutrition. This multi-specialty conference will update the participant’s knowledge and skills with the goal to improve the quality of patient care. Topics were carefully chosen based on the needs assessment taken at last year’s program and with the advice from each of the departments representing the above specialty which included recent advances in the field, issues of qual- ity assurance and requests from previous attendees. (Individual course objectives will appear in the final program.)
CE AccreditationThe Loma Linda University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. Loma Linda University School of Medicine designates this continuing medical education activity for a maximum of 19 Category I credit(s)™ towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. (Additional hours are available for the Cardiology Symposium.) DISCLOSURE: This program has been planned and implemented in accor- dance with ACCME essentials and standards. The LLUSM Office of Continuing Medical Education relies on its CME faculty to provide content that is evi- denced-based and free of commercial bias. Therefore, in accordance with ACCMEstandards, any faculty and/or provider industry relationships will be disclosed. Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending. The California State Board of Registered Nurseshas issued guidelines stat- ing that CMA accredited Category I courses are acceptable toward meeting CE requirements for license renewal by nurses. American Dietetic Association credit is pending. |
